The living environment of the Béarnaises Pyrenees is of real heritage interest and is the subject of special attention. From the shepherd’s hut in the mountains to the urban palace, through the traditional houses and the habitat of the 20th century, the architecture of the territory is studied and valued in the same way as the archaeological elements and the historical monuments.

The architectural and landscape charter
To better understand our architecture and our landscapes, a study conducted by a specialized firm made it possible to produce a document, an architectural and landscape charter, which also offers tools and advice to carry out rehabilitation and construction projects while preserving the specificity of the territory.
This charter identifies and explains the assets of the territory to make them better understood to the greatest number.
It offers educational sheets to support rehabilitation or construction projects.
Developed with the Conseil d'Architecture Urbanisme et Environnement des Pyrénées-Atlantiques, the Unité Départemental de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine and the urban planning instructors of the Communauté de Communes du Haut-Béarn, the Communauté de Communes othe Ossau valley and the Departmental Directorate of the Territory and the Sea of Pau, it provides a maximum of concrete elements of reference.
